Take a journey, and venture into the Southern Alps, a rugged mountain range dividing the South Island. You will have the opportunity to see Mount Aspiring / Tititea up close, as well as expansive stretches of unspoiled native forest and ancient glacial icefalls. The journey culminates with a landing amidst the snow-capped peaks of Mount Aspiring National Park.

Duration

50-minute total trip duration including snow landing.

Please allow approximately 1.5 hours for check-in, safety briefing and your flight.

  • 1 hour prior to departure, please call 0800 500 575 for the final weather check.

  • Check-in closes 30 minutes prior to departure time.

What to Bring

  • Warm clothing.
  • Sturdy covered shoes.
  • Sunglasses and sunscreen.
  • Phone and camera (please make sure large cameras are on a strap).  

What to Leave Behind

  • Bags
  • Selfie sticks and I-pads are not permitted on our aircraft.
  • Loose clothing and scarves.
  • Dangerous goods.
  • Email confirmation will be received immediately after completing your booking. 
  • Flights, landings and routes may vary due to weather and the pilot’s discretion. Flight times are approximate and include your landing.
  • Minimum passenger numbers apply for flights. Bookings will be coordinated to achieve this where possible.
  • Prices include concession fees contributing toward conservation and sustainability management.

Weather

  • Your flight is subject to favourable weather conditions; if canceled due to poor weather, you will be given the option to rebook to an alternative date, or cancel and receive a full refund.

  • We recommend booking your flights early in your trip with flexibility for weather changes. We don’t want you to miss out.

The Helicopter Line operates scenic flight activity that takes place within an environment involving aircraft and over water/mountainous terrain, where there are elements of risk involved. The primary risks being (but not limited to) equipment failure, human error, changing weather conditions, unavoidable external occurrences and potential aircraft hazards. 

Operating as a professional tourism helicopter company requires highly skilled pilots who are extremely disciplined, particularly when flying in the Southern Alps.  To operate safely our team of pilots require the support of management and an equally disciplined team on the ground. The Helicopter Line takes all reasonable, practicable and lawful steps such as complying with strict New Zealand Civil Aviation Rules to ensure your safety whilst on your experience with us.

  • Customers will receive a full refund or credit with minimum 24 hours’ notice of cancellation.
  • Customers will receive a full refund or credit in case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Contact us by phone to cancel or inquire about a cancellation.
  • Customers cancelling within 24 hours of departure and/or are No-shows, will be charged the full price.
